How to Become a CASA Volunteer

Background Check

Pre-Service Training
Complete our comprehensive training program covering child development, court procedures, and advocacy skills.
Swearing-In Ceremony
Be officially sworn in by a judge and receive your first case assignment.
Begin Advocating
Start building a relationship with your assigned child and advocating for their best interests in court.
Volunteer Requirements
- • Must be at least 21 years of age
- • Must pass a criminal background check
- • Must complete pre-service training (approximately 30 hours)
- • Must commit to serving a child for at least one year
- • Must be able to dedicate 10–15 hours per month
- • Must reside in or be willing to serve Isle of Wight, Suffolk, Franklin, or Southampton
